Cap Touch 5 Click is a capacitive touch sensing Click board™ which features the CY8CMBR3106S-LQXI CapSense® Express™ controller which enables advanced, yet easy-to-implement, capacitive touch sensing user interface solutions.
We provide a library for the CapTouch5 Click as well as a demo application (example), developed using MikroElektronika compilers. The demo can run on all the main MikroElektronika development boards.
Package can be downloaded/installed directly form compilers IDE(recommended way), or downloaded from our LibStock, or found on mikroE github account.
This library contains API for CapTouch5 Click driver.
- Initialization function.void captouch5_cfg_setup ( captouch5_cfg_t *cfg );
CAPTOUCH5_RETVAL captouch5_init ( captouch5_t *ctx, captouch5_cfg_t *cfg );
void captouch5_default_cfg ( captouch5_t *ctx );
- This function reads slider position.void captouch5_read_button_status ( captouch5_t *ctx, T_CAPTOUCH5_BUTTONS *buttons );
uint16_t captouch5_read_slider_position ( captouch5_t *ctx );
This example is waiting for touch sensor to detect something and then logs what is touched.
The demo application is composed of two sections :
Initializes I2C module and driver, tests communication and configures device.
Waiting for touch sensor to detect something and then logs what is touched.
Click will go to sleep if doesn't get any command in 340ms. When you start device try restarting your board few times to start device. The full application code, and ready to use projects can be installed directly form compilers IDE(recommneded) or found on LibStock page or mikroE GitHub accaunt.

Additional notes and informations
Depending on the development board you are using, you may need USB UART click, USB UART 2 Click or RS232 Click to connect to your PC, for development systems with no UART to USB interface available on the board. The terminal available in all Mikroelektronika compilers, or any other terminal application of your choice, can be used to read the message.
